Staying on Course with Healthy Snacks

Recently I had the pleasure of working closely with The Variety Club of Great Britain and The Grove Hotel in Hertfordshire in ensuring that the 120 golfers competing in ‘Jamie’s Annual Charity Pro Am’ at The Grove in Hertfordshire were nourished and sustained whilst competing on the golf course.

Taking part in the day were a number of stars from the European Tour – including David Howell, Matt Southgate, Oliver Wilson, Matt Wallace & Philip Golding – as well as 90 high net worth businessmen.

Each participant received a “My Relationship with Food” goodie bag on arrival to fuel their performance on the fairway, each of which was filled with a variety of delicious, healthy snacks and refreshments that had been kindly provided by friends at the companies listed below.

What was inside our goodie bag

Love, Corn

The team at Love,Corn. generously supplied their delicious Sea Salt and Smoked BBQ Corn Snacks

Feedback from the players – #theperfectcrunch is exactly what these are – a really nice change from the other snacks that are out there – and you can definitely taste and feel the quality!

Kind Snacks

We were really lucky to be kindly supplied with two delicious flavours of KIND Bars: Almond & Coconut and Caramel Almond & Sea Salt

Feedback from the players – Off the charts! I’ve never tried a cereal bar anything like this and will definitely be hunting them out in the future! They definitely taste (and look) like a healthier choice.

Savoursmiths Crisps

The players savoured two of the flamboyant flavours from Savoursmiths Crisps: Wagyu Beef with Honey & Mustard and Champers & Serrano Chilli

Feedback from the players – Wow! What a difference from the usual crisps I eat – lots of taste, full of crunch and no greasy feeling left on my fingers! Don’t think I’ve ever tried flavours quite like these! Even better to know that they’re made from British potatoes!

Inspiral – Kale Chips

Our players were fortunate enough to be treated to a range of different Kale Chips including the following varieties; Original, Wasabi Wheatgrass, Sweet Chilli and Baobab & Onion

Feedback from the players – I’d always thought that kale was soggy and bland and had to be forced to eat it so was shocked to find myself willing eating these –now I know what all the fuss is about! Really surprised at how much I enjoyed crunching on a bag of these chips! Felt like I was eating my favourite seaweed from the Chinese – just without it being fried and covered in sugar!

Savsé – Juices & Smoothies

Our thirsty players were well and truly saved thanks to Savsé who were generous enough to supply their nutrient and taste packed juices & smoothies

Feedback from the players – Makes a nice change to what’s on offer at the Halfway House! Feels like it’s doing me some good – hope it does the same for my game!

True Nopal, Cactus Water

Our goodie bags also contained refreshingly delicious True Nopal Cactus Water. To find out more about how to tantalise your own taste-buds then visit

Feedback from the players – Heard of coconut water but never heard of this stuff – pleasantly surprised! Nicely fruity without being sweet or sickly! Revitalising with a hint fruitiness, perfect to keep hydrated throughout 18 holes of golf!

This event was Jamie’s 7th Annual Charity Pro Am and not only was £15,000 raised on the day from an auction and raffle but The Variety Club of Great Britain also generously donated a fabulous new Sunshine Coach, worth £40,000, to the Gesher School in London.

The generosity of those involved in both this, and previous events, means that Jamie has now raised in excess of £200,000 in his 7 Annual Charity Pro Am’s – and has no intentions of stopping there! Watch this space to find out more about his upcoming events!

Thank you SO much to all of our generous sponsors for fuelling our golfers with delicious, healthy gluten-free snacks, all of which were very much appreciated!
