International Women’s Day 2020

Today the world is celebrating what I consider to be an incredibly important and significant day: International Women’s Day. It’s a day in which each and every one of us should salute the women who have and continue to shape society, as well as paying tribute to the ones closer to home who have had a direct and meaningful impact on our own lives.

When I decided that I wanted to make cooking my career and to become my own boss, I will always remember that the people who believed in my dream the most, who gave me the support and encouragement I needed and who cheered me on each and every day were predominantly women: my amazing mother and my incredible grandmother – and they continue to do that to this very day. And there have been so many other women along the way who have inspired and had a lasting impact – friends, family, mentors and my beautiful Instagram community of followers. I can confidently say that I would be a very different person and probably would have made some very different decisions in my life if it wasn’t for the influence and impact that they have had and I’m grateful to each and every one of them for making me who I am.

In a world where gratitude is often talked about but not demonstrated as much as it should and needs to be, I encourage each and every one of you out there – be you man or woman – to reach out to those women who have had an impact on your life and let them know how much their contribution has, and continues, to make, on your life.

Here are a just a few quotes to show the power of women:

“A man with dreams needs a woman with vision.”

“Behind every successful man there is a woman.”

“No man succeeds without a good woman behind him.”

So, no matter who or where you are, make sure that today, of all days, you celebrate the incredible women in your life!

Best wishes
